On April 16, 2008, the Electrical Line Technician Program, a product of the Lake Superior Community Partnership Foundation and Northern Michigan University held the graduation ceremony for the program’s fifth graduating class. This year’s ceremony featured 21 graduates. Class speaker was Jeremy Leake. Alumni speaker was Jeff Senski, class of 2004.
The program is a pre-apprenticeship program that will prepare students to install, maintain and operate electrical systems to supply energy to residential, commercial and industrial customers, and to underground generation facilities. Classes and instruction for the program are held at the Midwest Skills Development Center at the former KI Sawyer Air Force Base in Gwinn, MI.
